Hi, I’m Erin! Like many of you, I’ve walked the path of self-discovery and faced challenges that have, at times, left me feeling “stuck.” I believe that my personal journey allows me to approach my work with empathy, compassion, and a deep understanding of what it feels like to navigate life’s obstacles.
I decided to pursue mental health counseling after realizing my passion for helping others, and started my practice working in inpatient and outpatient detox. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with foster youth, individuals struggling with addiction, couples, and families, as well as supporting adults in managing their mental health in a healthy, productive way. I am passionate about helping individuals become the best version of themselves, no matter where they are in their journey.
In addition to my work as a counselor, I’m an adjunct professor at D'Youville University, where I have the joy of helping train and inspire the next generation of counselors. Supporting future mental health professionals as they grow into their roles is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
I truly believe that trusting your therapist is a crucial part of the healing process. In our work together, you will have a safe space to share your experiences, challenges, and emotions. I’m here to support and empower you on your path to wellness. My approach is person-centered, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to tailor our work to your unique needs and goals.
I’m honored to be a part of your healing journey and excited to see the growth and progress you’ll make along the way.
I offer a range of therapeutic services to support you wherever you are in your journey. These include individual therapy, couples and family counseling, and specialized addiction treatment as a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). I also provide court-ordered evaluations for DUI and other substance-related cases, ensuring you get the professional support you need in a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment.
In our first session together at Hopeful Minds Therapy, I’ll take time to get to know you and understand what brings you to counseling. This is also your chance to ask any questions you may have about the process, so you can feel comfortable and confident moving forward.
A counseling session with Hopeful Minds Therapy typically lasts for 53-60 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences.
